Medical Students

The Division of Endocrinology participates in the Foundations of Medical Practice (MEDD 411) course, including organizing and presenting two weeks of course material: Endocrinology and Diabetes.  Division members and Fellows act as preceptors in the problem-based earning sessions and provide lectures to the undergraduate class.

Division members at St. Paul’s and Vancouver General Hospitals are also actively involved in 3rd and 4th year undergraduate electives, providing clinical instruction in outpatient clinics and inpatient hospital management, as well as presenting formal teaching sessions to the senior students throughout the year. Approximately 5-10 students are accepted per year.

For UBC medical students to arrange an endocrinology elective, contact your clinical course director or the MD Undergraduate Education office.
